About the Role:

The Performance Engineer II will play a critical role in ensuring Tekion’s systems and applications deliver high performance and reliability at scale. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests, identifying bottlenecks, and collaborating with developers to optimize systems. This role requires a mix of strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and effective collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain test artifacts including scripts, test data, and test reports.
  • Execute performance testing projects both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver accordingly.
  • Drill down into performance issues to identify bottlenecks and problem areas.
  • Work closely with developers to fix and optimize performance issues.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using Jenkins, shell scripts, or custom frameworks.
  • Guide junior team members with best practices in performance testing.
  • Build frameworks/automation to support quick load testing on demand.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience in performance engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, Gatling.
  • Strong understanding of performance metrics (server-side and client-side) across Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Proficiency in Java or Python programming.
  • Experience automating repetitive tasks (Jenkins, shell scripts).
  • Familiarity with creating performance testing frameworks for quick execution.
  • Ability to work independently as well as guide junior team members.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

Good to Have:

  • Knowledge of databases like MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
